Local Victoria resident, Kenneth Timothy Zavadil, was convicted on three counts of Promotion of Child Pornography; and was sentenced to 20 years in prison on each count by the jury on Friday, January 13, 2012. District Judge Robert C. Cheshire cumulated the sentence with counts two and three stacked on the first count of Promotion of Child Pornography. Johna Stallings with the Victoria County District Attorney's Office prosecuted the case, presenting several witnesses throughout the week long trial. The evidence against Zavadil was recovered by a search warrant executed by Lt. Druesedeau with the Texas Department of Public Safety on May 7, 2009. Druesedeau recovered over 500 images of child pornography in Zavadil's home. Further investigation revealed Zavadil had committed sexual offenses against two victims, along with other instances of physical and emotional abuse.
